The icon is credited with many miracles and widely venerated. One of these was miraculously saving the monastery during the Siege of Jasna Gora at the time of 17th-century Swedish invasion &#8211; the Deluge. Every year thousands of Poles go in pilgrim groups to visit Jasna Gora. It is also willingly visited by foreign tourists.
