Slovakia is a small country located between Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine. Because there is only approximately 100 km distance between Krakow and Polish border with Slovakia, we offer you a full day tour from Krakow to Slovakia which include some the most important tourist attractions of northern part of the country.
There are 2 different options for itinerary of this private tour:
Option 1:
During this tour will see Oravsky Castle – beautifully situated above Orava river on natural, high rock formation. You will also visit the interiors of the castle which were turned into museum. Afterwards we will drive toward Zuberec and Brestova to show you very unique place – open-air Museum of the Orava Village. You will admire traditional peasant houses, larders, wooden church, linen-makers houses etc.
Itinerary:
- hotel pick up (starting at chosen time in the morning),
- up to 2,5 hours journey from Krakow to Oravsky Castle in Slovakia,
- sightseeing of Oravsky Castle with our private guide for approx 1 hour and 15 min
- free time for lunch,
- up to 30 min drive from Oravsky Castle to the open-air Museum of the Orava Village in Zuberec and Brestova
- approx. 1,5 hour of sightseeing of the Museum with assistance of our guide
You will see:
- Late-Gothic wooden church and cemetery from the 15th century
- Goral Settlement – shows the poorest part of the village which is located in the south-eastern slopes of the Oravske Beskydy mountains.
- Lane of the Zamagurie Region – shows the typical structure of an Orava village with houses and farmsteads of rich and medium rich farmers,
- Market Place of the Lower Orava – presents the valuable side of the region with bigger houses
- Mill – located near the brook, with a sawmill and fulling mill with the common water-driven mechanism

Option 2
Treetop tour in Bachledova Valley & Spis Castle
In case of option 2, you will take a walk high above the ground visiting unique attraction of northern Slovakia – Bachledka Treetop Walk which is 600m long. It is located at the border of Tatra Mountains National Park and Pieniny Mountains. Just admire breathtaking views from the special observation tower and relax. Then, we will visit the famous Spis Castle, one the largest castles in Central Europe, on UNESCO Heritage List since 1993. Castle was built in 12th century on a dolomite rock 200 meters above the surrounding area.
Itinerary:
- hotel pick up (starting at chosen time in the morning),
- up to 2,45 h journey from Krakow to Bachledova Valley in Slovakia,
- 2 hours of Bachledka Treetop Tour accompanied by private guide in chosen language
Visit includes:
- cable car ride up to Magura Spiska Mountain where the path is located
- walk along the 600 metres long path between the treetops high above the ground level
- educational plates with many interesting facts about surrounding nature (both plants and animals),
- unforgettable view from high observation point.

5. up 1 h ride from Bachledova Dolina to the Spis Castle – impressive ruins of huge castle complex built in 12th century on a high hill,

- main exhibition of the Spis Museum which help you to imagine how the castle looked like in the previous centuries,
- torture dungeon with numerous devices of torture used in the past,
- replica of a bedroom,
- armory with weaponry from the medieval times,
- St. Elisabeth’s Chapel – small chapel with tall, arched windows
- replica of the castle’s kitchen,
- tower of the castle with the panorama of the mountains and area surrounding the castle on the top.
